Sport Bag UpCycling

2023 - Two months

Passing by the Nantes fan zone every day during the Rugby World Cup, I was inspired by the patterns on the kakemonos hanging from the streetlights. I decided to find a way to collect and repurpose them, playing with their graphics.

I reached out to the city of Nantes, which provided me with kakemonos at the end of the event. After some 3D modeling to visualize different pattern combinations, I used a PFAFF sewing machine to craft this bag from the thick fabric. For this project, I also drew inspiration from the brand Freitag, which applies a similar process on an industrial scale.

The project was well received by the members of DAEELE (Direction Ateliers Exploitation Énergie Livraisons Événementiel) and was presented during the QSE certification audits of DAEELE in Nantes.
